So my food photography is coming along quite nicely. I do tend to gravitate towards the dark moody stuff however every now and then I get an urge for something more light and fresh. I keep exploring and trying new things and buying more props! It is so hard to resist when you find something really unique and unusual. Or versatile. Or pretty. Ok, you get it.
These pancakes are the recipe from Joy Wilson, and is on her blog Joy the Baker. She is a popular food blogger with numerous delicious recipes. You can find the pancake recipe here. Me being a huge fan of anything lemon decided to make a Lemon Sugar Syrup to drizzle over the top. Plus that would be fun to photograph right? Well, that was a bit of a challenge actually! Trying to press the camera trigger and drizzle in just the right place - nope not easy. Half the time I couldn't even get it in the shot. Anyway, the sugar syrup I just put in some water, and sugar in a saucepan with some lemon zest, and a few drops of Lemon Essential from doTerra. That gave it a real zing and it was seriously delicious! It is worth a try.
