Country Air With Some Unexpected Horses And Cows

Country Air With Some Unexpected Horses And Cows

After months of hustling {yes sometimes you just need to}, I finally got away for a weekend to enjoy some country air with a plan to photograph the stars—an absolute dream. My first love has always been photography, {since hours in a makeshift darkroom as a child} and this trip was going to be all about capturing the night sky in its full glory. But as soon as I drove through the gate, I was met by a breathtaking Clydesdale horse, with hooves the size of my head, instantly changing the vibe of the entire weekend.

It wasn’t just the majestic stars I was chasing; I found myself immersed in the natural beauty around me. There’s something magical about eating cheese and crackers outdoors, breathing in the fresh country air, and listening to the quiet sounds of nature. No city noise, just the gentle rustling of leaves, the occasional bird call, and the comforting silence that only the countryside can offer. I know you country folk are like ummm yeah of course!

A bit of experimental photography! I experiment in all my creative practices - it's so important!

As night fell, I set up my camera to photograph the stars. But here’s the thing I didn’t expect—out of nowhere, horses and cows started appearing, as if they were as curious about me as I was about the night sky. These unexpected companions turned the night into something even more special. There’s nothing quite like sitting under a sky full of stars with the silhouettes of animals gently roaming around you.

Super luck to have the BEST weather!

The next morning, I woke up with intention. Sunrise was calling, and there was no way I was going to miss it. With a steaming cup of hot chocolate in hand, I soaked in the serenity as the first light broke through, painting the landscape in golden hues. Birds were chirping, the air was crisp, and for those precious moments, it felt like the world had slowed down just for me.

That weekend away gave me more than just starry skies—it was about connecting with nature in ways I hadn’t expected. From photographing the stars to being greeted by a giant Clydesdale, and watching cows and horses wander through the quiet night, it was a true escape. Sometimes, it’s the unexpected that makes the experience all the more memorable.

And just like that, I found my weekend filled with country air, and yes, some very unexpected horses and cows.
