These are no ordinary art prints. Quality and detail are important to me when I create a print for you from my original art. My art prints are a stunning and beautiful representation of the texture and fine detail of the original painting. They are the next best thing to owning an original art piece.

Printed on premium museum grade, sustainably sourced heavy weight fine art paper with a smooth matt finish. Archival inks and the latest Giclée printmaking techniques are used to ensure high quality, colour accuracy and consistency in the reproduction.

All art prints are lovingly printed to order.

I use Matt Paper for Art Prints

Smooth fine art paper combines the luxurious feel of traditional art paper with a smooth surface that highlights fine detail in images.

When I offer Photographic Prints they will be on Lustre Paper.

The lustre surface is a semi-gloss finish that has been the default surface used by photo labs for decades. The textured surface makes for less glare making the image easier to see at all angles

YOUR PRINT HAS ARRIVED - SLOW DOWN TIGER

Your print will be shipped rolled in a tube.

Please curb your excitement a little and take great care when removing your print from the tube. Once it is removed you will need to very gently unroll it. Firstly place it on a hard flat surface. I recommend placing some soft but heavy weighted items to flatten your print. Be very CAREFUL not to damage your print. Please check the "How do I unroll my print" section of this FAQ"s for more details and a video demonstration.

COLOUR COLOUR COLOUR

As you can see from my prints I love colour. An I know you do too. Unfortunately not all colour is equal. Computer screens have a glare and may show a different colour to other computer screens. A lot of love and care is put into producing a beautiful print with delicious colours - and displaying it in an accurate way, however what you receive may be slightly different to what you view on your computer. Please get in touch if you are concerned by the difference.

FRAMING

Your prints include a white border which makes it super easy for framing. All you need to do is find a standard size frame (the same size as your print) and ever so carefully place the print in the frame. No matt is required. Of course - if you decide to level up and purchase yourself a beautiful crafted frame then a matt and frame is ideal.

I HIGHLY recommend you take your print to a framer for professional framing. Your print is a piece of art and should be handled with the utmost care.

If you however like to break the rules and do you own thing, please know that your print can be damaged easily if not handled well.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - be careful unrolling your print. When you take your print out of its tube, it will stay rolled up fairly tightly.

It is really important that you take this sloooooooowly.

Your print is printed on thick high quality paper. And it will crease if you are not careful.

I will say it one more time - be careful! I am super impatient and I have damaged my own prints in the unrolling process.

DON"T touch the printed side of your print.

Larger prints require two people to unroll carefully.

As an artist it is so rewarding to see where my art ends up. I would love it if you send me a photo once you have it framed up! You can email the photo to rose@rosehewartson.com I will be super grateful.

Click here if you would like to see a video of how I unroll my prints.

But again, please know it is a precarious process and best left to the professionals.

ART PRINTS

Your art prints are a piece of art and deserves the best of care.

The highest quality print on the highest quality paper can still fade and degrade over time if not cared for.

Professional framing is recommended however if you are framing yourself please be mindful of the following.

DO

Leave your print rolled up until ready to frame

Handle with kid gloves.

DON'T

Hang your print in direct sunlight

Touch the surface of your print

PAINTINGS ON CANVAS

Here are a few pointers to keep in mind when purchasing a piece of art.

To avoid fading please take care to hang your art away from direct sunlight. Find it the perfect shady spot in your home. This goes for original art and prints. For prints, you may be able to talk to a framer about UV protective glass.

Let’s avoid the bathroom and laundry for hanging art so we can avoid mould and mildew hanging around. Ventilation is key.

Let’s also avoid hanging near intense heat aka near the fire!

To keep the canvas in tip top shape, avoid leaning anything against it.

Your original art will arrive varnished, so you will be able to dust as well as wipe gently with a dry cloth to clean. Please do not use chemicals as they can damage the painting..

Congratulations on your art purchase. I hope it brings you many many years of happiness and creativity in your life.

IF RELOCATING

Wrap your painting carefully in corrugated cardboard, bubble wrap or something to protect the surface from damage.

ART ON PAPER AND UNSTRETCHED CANVAS

Please follow the care instructions for Art Prints.

At this stage I offer framing in natural oak. If you would prefer a black or white frame, please contact me to arrange.

The wood that is used for the mouldings is sustainable and plantation grown.

Instead of glass we use 30mm Skinkolyte cast acrylic with excellent clarity and crystal clear transparency. It has 93% light transmittance rate. All materials used in the framing process are acid free.. which is the best option for your art.

Sending art through the post or a courier is nothing to take lightly. The last thing I want to hear is that your treasured purchase arrived to your place in a damaged condition. That is a little heartbreaking to think about, and has never happened to be so - touch wood!

When selling art, the packing process has to be considered carefully. There is a lot that goes into protecting an art piece when going through the courier system. We can never fully predict what trials and tribulations it will encounter along the way.

I have written a blog post detailing my process, so you can feel rest assured your art is packed well. You can find the post here if you would like to read further
